The deadline for linking the PAN card to the Aadhaar card has been extended till 30th June 2021. If you fail to link, your PAN Card will become invalid.
Under the new section 234H, a person shall be liable to pay a late fee of up to Rs.1,000 if not linking their PAN with Aadhaar.
How to link PAN card with Aadhaar card Online
- Open your browser and go to Income Tax Department’s website using the following URL. ( https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home )
- Click on Link Aadhaar in the Quick Links section located on the left side of the page.
- Once you are redirected to the Link Aadhaar form, you have to enter your PAN Number, Aadhaar Number, Name as per Aadhaar.
- Click the check box if you only have the year of birth in your Aadhaar card, and then click the check box for agreeing to validate your Aadhaar card details with UIDAI.
- On the next step, Enter the Captcha code shown in the image and click on Link Aadhaar.
Note: Visually challenged users may request an OTP instead of the captcha image. They will be asked to enter their registered mobile number, in which the OTP will be routed.
How to check if PAN card is linked with Aadhaar Successfully
To check Aadhaar link status, Go to the following URL.
https://www1.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/e-FilingGS/Services/AadhaarPreloginStatus.html
On the next step, enter your PAN and Aadhar Number and click on View Link Aadhaar Status to know if your PAN and Aadhaar are linked or not.
